Ancient poems and proses are the essence of Chinese traditional culture, which is a window for students to get in close contact with and feel Chinese culture. Besides, studying classical ancient poems and essays helps students to understand the richness and breadth of Chinese culture, absorb the wisdom of national culture, improve their cultural taste and aesthetic taste, and enrich their spiritual world. Therefore, on the afternoon of June 15th, the eighth grade Chinese group of the Junior High Department of the east campus held the ancient poetry writing contest in the joint classroom.
Specifically, this competition was set by the teachers teaching in Grade 8 and the contents are mainly the classic chapters that are required to be recited in the curriculum of this book. Before the competition, the Chinese teachers of each class selected 5 outstanding students through preliminary contest to take part in the competition on behalf of each class. With full confidence, the students stepped into the competition. After the invigilator announced the beginning of the writing competition, the students worked hard with their love for ancient poems and prose and full of confidence, and quickly finished the answers. 
All in all, this competition not only reviewed and strengthened the classroom learning content, but also greatly stimulated students' interest and enthusiasm in learning ancient poetry and prose, and cultivated their pride and admiration for Chinese culture. What’s more, this is a vivid and rich patriotic education class, which is an important form of the construction of a scholarly campus.
